Apiary Assistant

4-8 hours/monthApril - October

Help with routine hive inspections, maintenance tasks, and honey harvesting. Perfect for those interested in hands-on beekeeping experience.

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather
  • Willingness to work around stinging insects
  • Reliable transportation to apiary location

Education Coordinator

3-6 hours/monthYear-round

Assist with community workshops, school presentations, and educational events. Help spread awareness about pollinator conservation.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable speaking to groups
  • Basic knowledge of honeybees (training provided)
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Passion for environmental education

Social Media & Marketing

2-4 hours/weekYear-round

Help manage our social media presence, create content, write newsletters, and promote our programs and events.

Requirements:

  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Basic photography/video skills helpful
  • Strong written communication
  • Creative and organized

Event Support

Assist with special events, fundraisers, farmers markets, and community outreach activities. Great for those with limited time availability.

General Volunteer Requirements

Age & Availability

  • Must be 16 years or older (under 18 requires parental consent)
  • Commit to minimum 3-month volunteer period
  • Reliable attendance for scheduled activities

Safety & Training

  • Complete orientation and safety training
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Disclose any bee sting allergies or medical conditions

Important Note

All volunteers will receive comprehensive training before beginning their role. No prior beekeeping experience is required for most positions. We provide all necessary protective equipment for apiary work.
